Is Resistance Useless? Practical Academic Integrity Considerations in the Age of Artificial Intelligence – Keynote Presentation

I delivered the keynote address for the 2022 Association of Test Publishers Security Summit, a great opportunity to speak in a parallel space to much of my normal academic integrity work.

During the presentation, I looked at types of cheating, how cheating develops and considered the emerging challenges facing the sector.

We had a fascinating discussion. I think there’s a lot that the educational sector can learn from test developers and publishers, who often need to assess robustly and at scale. At the same time, commercial testing often depends heavily on exams, but such an approach also has vulnerabilities and there may be a need to consider what alternative forms of assessment are workable in that space.
