Adapting To Artificial Intelligence – The Future Of Academic Integrity

One of my favourite recent presentations was a webinar I gave for the European Network for Academic Integrity, which was also the first webinar in their new monthly webinar series. It was on a topic which I consider is going to be key to the future of academic integrity and assessment, but for which research and discussion is still in its earliest stages. That is, how the emergence of artificial intelligence changes everything.

The whole recording is available to view.

You also scroll through the slides on my SlideShare account, although they miss all of the live interaction.

I am available to deliver an updated version of this talk, or a related workshop, so do contact me if you are interested. What you may or may not get, depending on how brave I feel, are the three live demos of systems that can be used to answer or speed up the production of assignments. They are all very much work in progress, so do watch the video if you’d like to know more. I expect I will write more up as blog posts, or show something more polished at a conference, as time permits.

In case you’re interested, in the video I show:
– generate the start of a reflective written piece (essay) for one of my assignments
– generating a full web page from scratch using AI on a topic I know nothing about
– creating conceptual art for inspiration or two hand in

Working with AI tools is exciting, but the field is incredibly fast moving and not one we can just ignore.
