We also had a lively discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see the slides I used below (and do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/ThomasLancaster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check out my SlideShare account<\/a> for many more of my presentations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.slideshare.net\/slideshow\/embed_code\/key\/kihW4cH7dqtL2y\" width=\"595\" height=\"485\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"border:1px solid #CCC; border-width:1px; margin-bottom:5px; max-width: 100%;\" allowfullscreen> <\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the presentation, we discussed many of the different meanings and interpretations behind academic integrity, including the core idea that <strong>this is something involving everyone in an institution<\/strong>, not just students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also looked at some of the ways that academic integrity could be breached, in particular <strong>the challenges of contract cheating and the misuse of artificial intelligence<\/strong>. I shared examples of new ice cream flavours I had generated for a marketing assignment, complete with advertising copy and generated pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I say so often, <strong>addressing a lack of academic integrity requires more than considering a single solution<\/strong>. Raising awareness, and getting staff and students alike to think about academic integrity in their own situation, remains a key part of this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is academic integrity, why do academic integrity breaches happen, what challenges do we need to be alert to, and what should we do about this?
